Your own AI keys

Creaton runs on the Mersal AI engine by default. If you already pay for an AI provider, connect your key and Creaton sends your requests there instead.

Supported providers

  • OpenAI
  • Google Gemini
  • Anthropic Claude
  • OpenRouter
  • Groq (text only)
  • Any OpenAI-compatible endpoint (custom base URL)

Connecting a key

  1. Open AI accounts and add a provider.
  2. Paste the API key (and the base URL for a custom endpoint). Optionally choose the model.
  3. Choose what it handles — text, images or both. You can, for example, bring a key for images only.
  4. Creaton runs a test request when you save and tells you if it failed. You can re-test at any time.

What changes

  • Requests that go to your key are billed by your provider and are not counted against Creaton’s daily allowance.
  • Keys are encrypted at rest and only used for your own requests.
  • Removing a key sends that kind of request back to the built-in engine.
  • Your own key does not change the subscription price — the subscription covers the studio itself, not just AI usage.
